A total of 5 Subject Matter Presentations and Practical Case Studies

  1. Fortifying Your Digital Fortress: Cybersecurity Assurance and Risk Management

By: Mr. Muntathar (Montii) Abid, Cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert (SME), Australia

The indispensable role of penetration testing alongside rigorous risk analysis is a critical element of cybersecurity assurance. By simulating real-world cyberattacks, organizations can unveil and address vulnerabilities, while a detailed risk analysis ensures that vulnerabilities are prioritized correctly. Our goal is to guide attendees through the process of integrating these approaches to strengthen your organization’s cyber defenses, thus safeguarding sensitive information and systems against potential breaches. Practical insights into developing a resilient cybersecurity strategy that balances risk management with proactive testing will be shared, equipping attendees with the resources needed to enhance the organization’s security posture.

  2. The Role of Cyber Resilience in Business Continuity Planning

By: Ms. Indrani Chandrasegaran (CBCP), Top 30 Women in Cyber Security ASEAN Region, Singapore

In today’s interconnected digital landscape, organizations face an ever-growing array of cyber threats that can disrupt operations, compromise sensitive data, and undermine business continuity. In response, the integration of cyber resilience into business continuity planning has become paramount. This presentation will explore the critical intersection between cyber resilience and business continuity planning, emphasizing the importance of proactive preparation and effective response strategies to mitigate the impact of cyber incidents.

  3. Supply Chain Disruptions by Natural Disasters.

By: Ms. Sharon Barbosa Januario (ABCP), Principal Consultant & Chief Strategies for Business Continuity Management, Philippines

Natural disasters have the potential to disrupt every segment of the supply chain, from the point of sourcing raw materials to the delivery of the final product to the consumer. This presents significant challenges for businesses, necessitating effective risk mitigation strategies, contingency planning, and collaboration across the supply chain network. Supply chain leaders must find a balance between resilience and efficiency to ensure the network’s security and continuity of operations in the face of unpredictable events. We will discuss the steps that these leaders must take to achieve this balance.

  4. 10 years have passed, what have we learned from the MH370 and MH17 tragedies?

By: Mr. Mohd Fuad Sharuji, Former Crisis Director MH370/MH 17, Malaysia Airlines System

In 2014, Malaysia experienced two of the worst aviation tragedies – the disappearance of Flight MH370 and the shot down of Flight MH17. A sudden, unexpected crisis happened that brings to light the importance of all parties in managing such disasters. This forum aims to examine the treatments and services taken in response to such adversities, and the impact of these actions on the families of the victims, society, and the nation. The immediate response and actions of an organization showcase its capabilities in managing crises.

  5. The Role of BCM in Military and Civil Conflict Scenarios.

By: Mr. Clifford Siew (MBCP), Member of the Technical Committee of ISO22301, the national standards body of Singapore

In times of military and civil conflict, the resilience of organizations is put to the ultimate test. Ongoing geopolitical tensions, particularly the military conflict in Ukraine and the subsequent sanctions imposed on Russia have led to global economic and financial fragmentation. In such challenging scenarios, the critical importance of Business Continuity Management (BCM) strategies cannot be overstated. Organizations face a variety of risks, from cyber warfare to physical disruptions caused by conflicts that can disrupt their operations, threaten livelihoods, and jeopardize security. Attendees will gain insights into actionable strategies and practices for integrating BCM into their organizational resilience framework to navigate through the complexities of military and civil conflicts.
